I think this headline is really burying the lede. To me, the real story is the administration's complete lack of respect for the rule of law. I've always felt that the US was a cut above because no matter how many shitty things we did, our basic institutional respect for the rule of law set us up as an example for the world to follow. At least it was shocking when Nixon said that if the president does it it's not illegal. Today the entire GOP apparatus seems to think that the president legislates from Twitter willy-nilly.
