Bob Marshall, the self-proclaimed homophobe who lost his seat in the House of Delegates to an openly transgender woman, Danica Roem, wrote an opinion piece in the Washington Post about Roem's "true agenda."
It reads like something out of The Onion, and you'd think he'd be able to come up with a little more in terms of actual argument.

He doesn't write for them. They're only hosting his "editorial" to boost how many people see it. The net effect is more people realizing that he is unfit for public office.
I don't think there's newspaper in the world that would turn down a letter to the editor about X from Y who lost to X in a recent election. In the best case it's food for thought (this is as far as possible from the best case), in the worst case a plurality of their target audience finds it hilarious.
