The end of an era. AIM was the end-all be-all for me from about 2000 until 2009/10. College especially: I never knew anyone's phone numbers, and AIM was all we used to chat or organize. You'd walk around campus during the warmer months and hear the default AIM message sounds coming out of open windows.

Is it just me or does it seem like nobody really gathers phone numbers anymore? All you do is get someone's social media and then you talk to them on there. There is no need for a phone number or to listen to someone's voice through the phone when you have so many other options out there. Do you guys know a lot of people that really talk on the phone anymore?

Well, I gave up Facebook about 1.5-2 years ago now, so phone (usually texting) is all I do. Plus occasional e-mails with aunts and uncles.
