I never understood why Cabaret Voltaire weren't more popular. Maybe a classic example of "before their time" and a big influence on future developments?

Because their catalogue is deeply hit-or-miss. I'm a big fan but between Red Mecca (which sounds a lot like early Skinny Puppy) and The Conversation (which is straight-up ambient wierdness) is a lot of really forgettable stuff.

How many albums does Psychic TV have? And how many Psychic TV songs do you know? I'll bet one.

I know at least two Psychic TV songs without wracking my brain but your point is well taken.

I'm also garbage at remembering song titles.

I'm a fan but they are on the challenging side of listening for most people.

Or just the way people were exposed to music. Other than the Sensoria video getting on MTV, I don't think they ever really got pushed in front of people.
