The thing about Amazon is they don't have to. They merely need to be the preeminent name in the segment, even at a loss, because Amazon investors are batshit insane (or, more accurately, are firm practitioners of Greater Fool Theory). Blue Apron investors, on the other hand, must firmly believe that Blue Apron can vanquish the HomeGrocer.com problem through Perseverance of Packaging.
