I decided to remote in today, since I'm out of quarters to do laundry. Since I don't really have work until a 9:15 SCRUM call, this is as good a time as any to post my SEMI-MONTHLY TOTALLY SERIOUS UPDATE ABOUT LIVING IN NEW JERSEY.
Let's begin by talking about Walter. Walter is my neighbor. Seems decently old. Spends a lot of time outdoors. He's short, about a foot high, and keeps knocking on my bathroom window. Walter is a pidgeon. I have a love-hate relationship with that bird. I hate how I know he's busy shitting all over my window sill, but he also helps wake me up for work, so I guess that's okay.
Beyond that? BOY. Boy boy boy.
You forget that living on the east coast just gives you infinite better places to eat. This is part of the detox process from 4 years in Ohio, where the shit-asses you meet recommend you garbage baked pasta or you find some giant, shitty chain restaurant that can't even cook blackened salmon properly (how?).
I'm within a mile of everything. There's like 6 pizza places within walking distance, all of them tiny mom-and-pop stores. I can go get awesome Vietnamese food whenever. There's 8 sushi places within a mile of work. When I go to the doctor to get a new prescription, or go through the 9 million pages of paperwork as I am right now, I can stop at an Italian cafe that also serves gelatto, right next to a weird stone oven bakery store, and then pass by a french cafe right after.
As far as work goes, I'm still not exactly sure what I'm doing, but I think I'm doing a good job at it?
