Vikings is still a favorite for my wife and I. Lagertha is an amazing character arc.

Penny Dreadful is super clever, and - now that it has lived past two seasons - the authors seem to be really pushing the envelope. It's a trite idea - 1880/90's London, and all the classic "monster" characters and thrown into one plot together: Dr. Frankenstein, Dorian Grey, Wolfman, witches, Dr Jekyll, no less than THREE of Frankenstein's "monsters", Dracula, an Alan Quartermain character, etc... - but it is done really well. And there are LONG character arcs that don't resolve neatly at the end of a season, but arc into the next season. Even the bit parts - Sembenni, the blind girl, the junior witches, etc - are really chewy, interesting people.

Abstract is a great look at eight individual creative people - an architect, a car designer, a graphic designer, etc - and HOW they work, where their ideas come from, and then some really nice videography of their work. The Architect is by far the best episode, but all of them are interesting in their own right.

Ash vs The Evil Dead is my secret shame. Just started watching it. I'm not a blood-and-guts or horror movie kind of guy, but Bruce Campbell is just my kind of funny, and I love it. Cornball blood and guts. Ain't nobody can do it like Ash!
