They've done this before, though - a couple-three times, if I'm not mistaken. It's an argument for how atmospherically inflated Tesla shares are, not for the intrinsic value of Tesla.

Investing in Tesla stock is an easy way for Joe Schmo to vote for the future. It really has nothing to do with the product or the market valuation or the potential for the auto market.

Nobody buys stock in Tesla because it is a good idea. Everyone know it isn't. It is way overpriced, and you'll never get your 10x, because there just isn't a feasible buy-out plan.

None of this is news to anyone, I expect.

The reason you buy Tesla stock is the same reason we sat up at night as kids and watched NASA launches: to be a part of something bigger. Something audacious. To support those with big goals, who exist far above the petty beefs and moronic flailings of an incompetent government of "No", and to embrace those who say "Yes".

Shit. If I had $304 to piss away, I'd buy a share just to throw my "vote" in with Elon and his team.

Indeed. At this point, I'm waiting for news on the crash. It'll be interesting to see how other technology and car stocks react.
