Have we already slightly faltered by having expressed a non-zero amount of anti-trump sentiments in the Facebook groups? A greater potential to discredit the movement (and science/scientists) now exists for the clever spin teams working under Trump.
A singular focus on the march being strictly “pro-science” parroted verbatim by every member of the movement may sound glum and impersonable, but it will be unmistakable, and significantly more difficult to pervert by the media. We should expect that any and all signs of weakness will be exploited. If you’re having trouble imagining how easy it is to assassinate a movement that lacks a cohesive message, look no further than the story of Occupy Wallstreet.
We might have to revolutionize (actually, devolve) our networks of information distribution. The ultimate precaution is, of course, strictly peer-to-peer communication. Note that this, too, could be spun as threatening by an administration and used as justification for sifting through the already abundant NSA records.
