My lease is up in April and I don't know if I want to renew. I like the location a lot, but I'd really like to be in a house or somewhere with a semblance of a yard. Renting a house would certainly require a roommate, which I haven't had in two years now, and don't really want. There's too much freedom in living by myself. But I'd also save a ton of money, most likely, since housing isn't particularly here yet.

Hmm.

Pouring rent down a hole sucks.

Living alone rocks.

Hard to balance the two.

Check your lease. It's possible that it converts to month-to-month once you're through the term. If not, see if your landlord would be amenable.

It does, but the monthly rent ups even more if you do month-to-month as opposed to a 9/12 month lease, I don't quite remember how much without having the paperwork in front of me.

Hmmm. Well, might be worth if if it gives you three months of versatility. Say go month/month for two months until you find a place you love - if it costs you an extra $200 it's probably a good investment.
