Late Holiday and New Years best wishes!

I'm out of hospital, where I was spending simply marvellous holidays and New Year. What was a fairly mundane infection went into overdrive because of all of the other bullshit that happens in my body and caused me 41.8°C (about 107°F) fever and some other unpleasant symptoms.

For the past seven months I've been taking medications designed to curb my overactive pituitary gland that, among other problems, is releasing more than enough growth hormone to sustain the needs of two people who only just hit their growth sprout. To translate the copious amounts of medical jargon that I was served to human speech, most of my bodily functions are affected by that. Increased metabolism (on which I had been bitching before), bone density, immune functions, kidney and liver activity etc. I can't develop gigantism (my growth actually stopped) or similar height-related ailments, but that needs to be treated ASAP. I have more tests and hospitalisation ahead of me that will determine other factors, but considering the lack of response to my current medications the possibility of pituitary gland tumour wasn't excluded. I'm scheduled for a PET scan and/or MRI in early February. Truth be told I would not be surprised if I fucked up some of the details here, but my attending doctor was one of those people who genuinely can't comprehend that most patients don't have a decade of medical training and I don't really want to consult or tell my mother about this. She has enough shit to worry about as it is.

On that note, my brother actually improved quite significantly. He even started to be annoyingly observant and one doctor even remarked that she felt 'interrogated' and 'tricked' by him. That's the older brother that I remember! Despite being one of the nicest people I've ever known, he can be absolutely intimidating even on a wheelchair when provoked. His doctors probably had some problems adjusting to the fact that a guy who barely a month ago could get confused by talking too fast just received a significant boost to his IQ. And if you think that I have a temper when being talked down to…

Anyway, I fucking hope that you guys had a better time. While I don't feel much different than I was before my disappearance, I think that I'm still processing past two weeks.
