You know, I actually think he is underrated as a bassplayer. I can't think of one bass line if his that is bad or is too out front etc. everything he did on bass, with the Beatles is perfect. That's no accident. When the rest of the band went back to their lives, Paul stayed and worked. He worked and worked. His baselines are perfect. You hear them and can't imagine anything different. In the simplest of Beatles song you can pay attention to the bass and it's likely you'll be impressed by its inevitability. Plus, there are times when he is down right the most bad ass melodic bass player of all time.
