full circle - I snapped this picture of the photo lab being retooled to no longer accept film from film cameras - with my digital camera...
I have some strange emotional attachment to film. But I don't think it is justified anymore.

I have 6 rolls of undeveloped black and white film from college. I should develop it now before it's too late.

I hear that. It's funny how dreams change over time. If you could ask the 15 year old about my dreams in life, the list would include "having my own darkroom in the basement. Nothing fancy - just enough for a hobby".
I can distinctly remember saying that on more than one occasion. who knew....

15 year old Dreams of mine:
1. Make albums. Lots of them 2. Tour the world with my band 3. Heather Graham The first one is still likely. Maybe even the third??!!

What is crazy to me is people using digital photography but then taking their digital data to Target to get a picture.
I guess there has to be some kind of transition for those Luddites on the cusp, but I can't see the new 're-tooled' photo processing centers being sustainable for too long. They will be like crappy Kinkos that offer fewer peripheral services.

I was really surprised to learn that even Ed Burtynsky has been embracing digital photography. Our ones and zeros are becoming scarily accurate. Like that retina display? ...shit is crazy.
