Weeeell bought that Asus Zenbook after posting about wanting a new laptop on here. Received it today. Going to return it tomorrow and get a mac book even if it's about 600$ more. First, the installation process was crap. I spent an hour deleting all the bullshit like solitaire and stupid software off the computer. The touchscreen is a pain but I could get used to it. But then I realized the track pad is terrible and NO WAY I can use this thing every day without going crazy. Editing is a lot of drag and dropping, I'll kill myself before I'm done with a video. :( On a more positive note, I'll get my macbook and not second guess if I made the right choice.
Haha yeah, I wanted to love it so bad, it would have saved me 600$! But that trackpad was just a dealbreaker. At first, I thought I could "get used to it" but then remembered I never had that with my Mac and that if I don't return it in time, I'll end up stuck with it. No regrets, I learned a bunch about computers and will be much happier without any doubts in my mind now :)
That's actually a really fantastic result. You got to try another machine, got to do you work on it, and learn something you can never learn from photos or any spec sheet: the tactile feel of the machine. I don't have a horse in this race. I'm just glad you are getting a machine that works well for you and what you do.
