Mhmm, Mandola is tuned like a cello (or, more accurately, viola), and is a fifth lower than violin. Same tuning scheme though - both are tuned to fifths.

FUN FACT: There used to be a ton of all-mandolin orchestras way back when (I think the turn of the 20th century/end of the 19th?), and there are some rare mandolin-like instruments floating around as a byproduct. Same thing with banjos.
