Pretty sure I've built one in 1/72nd scale.
dawg, I've learned to never underestimate you. You could tell me about your underwater basketweaving experiences and i'd say "... yeah i believe it."
See my buddy has a garage full, but he never really finishes anything. Although he's been working on the north cormorant for more than 20 years now. I think none of the plastic is left; it's all photoetched brass at this point.
I've been tempted a few times to give it a shot. Models and miniature figures gets to be an expensive hobby quick though. Fortunately I have a lot of old models in storage, so I have a ton I could practice on. Speaking of hobbies, I haven't done any recently but decoupage is actually a load of fun. I also have about three file folders full of vintage ads too, which is a bonus. There are a bunch of duplicates so I'm keeping an eye out for people who might appreciate them so I can give them some.
I used to have a bunch of spare bass strings lying around (different brands, etc). Still would, but I sold them to undergrads while at my MMus in exchange for beer.
in fact there's an online used market for Thomastik Infeld Spirocore bass strings. Some guys like them new and zingy, but can't stand them after 6 months. Some guys can't stand the six month break in period, and buy them off those guys to use for a year or two. Some guys can't stand the 2.5 year break in period, and buy them off those guys. And so on. I knew a guy who had 20 year old spirocores on his bass, and said they got better with age - "Like Black Socks".
nah, but new upright bass strings are like 250 bucks a set so I was giving them a sick deal for a 12 pack.
