I shazammed this track about 5 years ago. It's been a playlister ever since. Nice post.
Offtopic but the way you worded the title made me sad at first. I was thinking "Oh no! Bela Lugosi died!" Then..... slowly..... I realized, how in the world could Bela Lugosi still be alive to begin with? Then noticed it was a song. I think that kind of sums up the whole "celebrities dying" news stories. People just see a name that they know and love or maybe even just heard of and want to connect with their death, but sometimes, it's a complete fantasy and it's all in your head, and a celebrity's death really has nothing to do with you other than maybe you won't get to see them do <insert_famous_thing_here> again. Half of the time they aren't doing it anymore anyway, so screw celebrity death news. More people die a second than that guy you saw in some movie or TV show. Maybe it's just because you know their face and you don't know or see the millions others dying that makes you care about those stories.
That was really fantastic. Seriously. I'd stick that into a gothy playlist any old time and be perfectly happy when that track came up. I like that you gave it so much space to breathe... let the echoes develop and fade with the flanger... milked that pick slide down the strings until we could hear each individual string wrap ping off the pick, one by one... Nice work! I'm jealous.
I'm jealous too! This is Bauhaus, not me. But thanks :)
I got to see Bauhaus when they opened for nine inch nails back in 2006 or 2007, somewhere around that. Peter Murphy is an odd dude, but they put on a great show.
