I'm sorry to hear that. Being away from the kids is tough. I had a 7 am flight yesterday and got back after midnight. No kids all day. Still, When I got home, I kissed my daughter on the cheek and she woke up long enough to say "hi daddy," and fell back asleep. That alone is worth not staying in a hotel but traveling late.
