To be honest, it does at least poke interestingly at our tendency to translate very old foreign texts into the equivalent "sagely" language of our own.

If Etiemble the French reference about Tao translation can go on and on (in his Tao's preface) about that joke with a chicken that can sell normal egg 2$ or big egg 5$ and choose the first option because the second is a pain in the ass... Then I can fathom this version. After all Tao-to-kin is probably a joke in itself. No punctuation in a language that need punctuation to make sense?
