Stuff like this shows why local (meaning non-President here) elections are so important.
I don't understand this at all. It's a statement of "We want more adults with downs syndrome exerting a draw on resources of their caregivers, eventually the state once their parents die." This is dysgenics. Intentionally selecting for unwanted traits.
It's a statement of "we want all abortion to be illegal in all cases, but Roe v. Wade prohibits that, so we'll make the process as cumbersome and odious as humanly possible so that it will be de jure legal but de facto illegal." It's also a statement of "we know you're pissed about corporate tax cuts but we also know you'll vote against your own interests if we dog-whistle our way to getting your visceral reaction instead of your intellectual one." It's also a statement of "this move is just as unconstitutional as the last one but we'll make a big show out of it because grandstanding and passing ineffective, obstructionist laws are what we do best because you'll vote for us on principle rather than on balance." It's not dysgenics. It's politics - democratically selecting for unwanted traits.
I understand how gender is that way so they don't reveal gender but how can they possibly enforce this with race ? I mean you'll either know what race it's likely to come out as or find out when the baby is born. Either way the doctor can't really find out if it's because of race unless they interogate the woman.
Paging _refugee_ I've been sitting across the Indiana border watching gov. Pence make one shitty decision after another. We have Matt Bevin, which may turn out to be every bit as bad, but for the time being... at least we don't have Mike Fucking Pence.
Ugh. I could say terrible things about "if they don't ban adoption of such cases as well then I expect that the state will find itself shelling out a lot more money for certain wards in the future" but like, none of it's supported by science. I think it's all crappy.
