My guess is Blackberry gets bought by someone (my bet Microsoft).

Although numbers haven't been released, sales figures suggest that the Priv is selling well. I think it all hinges on whether or not Blackberry can get government and enterprise contracts.

I am betting they can. I bought some BBRY stock.

I recently ditched my smart phone entirely due to security concerns. I considered a priv but just buying a cheap burner phone seemed easier until I have that kind of money laying around.

I glad. I'd like Blackberry to stick around and be the "other" cell phone maker. Maybe they can work on filling the "I need a very high security phone" niche.

That makes me mad. How hard is it?!

No one knows yet. It's probably not an attack on PGP (that would be much bigger news). They need physical access to the device, and they can't recover everything, so it's probably something like carelessly stashing cleartext somewhere.

Hopefully it is a one-off, and not such a big deal. Blackberry's only hope is to get enterprise adoption by differentiating themselves with security.
