- Ms. Pankova grew addicted to the beverage itself. She drank more and more, awakened her cravings for the stronger high of heroin, and relapsed. Only during another stay in rehab did Ms. Pankova learn that the drink’s primary ingredient, a Southeast Asian leaf called kratom, affects the brain like an opiate and can be addictive, too.
Requiem for a Dream anyone?
My wife and I tried kratom. I caught a weird buzz off it, like as if I'd taken a few caffeine and ma huang (ephedrine) capsules on an empty stomach. (I am old enough to remember when you could buy ma huang off the shelf.) Not entirely enjoyable, plus a ton of nausea. Then a massive headache, followed by two days of more nausea. Wife was arguably more lucky - she got severely nauseated within about 30 minutes and puked it all back up after which she was fine.
I want a new drug. I don't take any currently, but just this morning I was reflecting on how much I miss the days when I could take drugs. Meaning, when I didn't have so many responsibilities and could while away three hours just feeling good and playing video games.
yeah, it was a flawed comment in a number of ways. All to say that I wouldn't mind smoking weed now and then, if only in solitude while creating art. -I always enjoyed that.
That time could come again, tng (if when it came you wanted it to). After all, your kids will grow up and marijuana should get hopefully only more legal during the time it takes for them to do so. Most things are never truly over, just paused, right?
Smoking a joint with your dad is pretty much the coolest thing ever as far as I'm concerned. Do it for the kids, tng!
