Thank you! Do you know more about why? What the significance lyrically is to him? In listening to this for just a few minutes, it could be thought that the syncopated synth intro to the song was inspired by his playing...? I'm digging listening to this. Thanks cgod.

Riley did a fair amount of pulsing repetitive music, some of it orchestral and some of it solo on synth. The pulsing synths were inspired by his work. He's considered one of the big three modernist composers most known for the composition "In C" which I don't care for.

I love his solo stuff and his work with Don Cherry both of which I've probably posted in the past. I've read that he used to perform dusk to dawn concerts in San Francisco parks. He'd play for a while and set up some tape loop stuff for a break and then play some more.
