Being college students and extremely stingy we keep our shelves loaded with microwaveable ready to eat meals. Plus given the fact that dorms don't allow cooking.(unless you rent the kitchen, but who has that time?)

If you're only using your microwave oven to heat-up frozen dinners or re-heat leftovers, you're not making very good use of it. It's an effective cooking appliance, if you use it correctly.

Can you get bags/boxes/bowls of frozen veggies in single portion sizes? Some even come with a sauce and those that don't can be seasoned easily with soy/sriracha/BBQ/mayo. They are usually stocked with the frozen veggies, not ready meals. I used to use these a lot.
