9 plugins total on the site I'm most concerned about, but I'd need to check the others. Could that be an issue? The total amount of plugins or one rogue plugin ruining everything?

I administrate WordPress sites on shared hosting that, on average, use 20 plugins, and I have no significant performance issues. But then I also run the shared hosting, so I can allocate resources as I please.

It is possible, however, for larger numbers of plugins to cause performance issues. Some plugins, especially ones that aren't as mature, popular, or stable, may not place nicely with each other, and it's true that bugs in one module could potentially slow down the whole site.

Maybe, it depends on what you're running tbh. I'd look at seeing if support can see the processes on your VM.

Gotcha, alright then, people at customer support for GoDaddy are super nice but they haven't been quite helpful in the past. Thanks again for your time.

Yeah, GoDaddy is kinda bad in regards to support. however, I'd just check and if PHP is the top process or MySQL it might be wordpress.
