And I gotta say - http://www.nypdrecruit.com/faq/exam-employment I guess a lot of that is pretty vague (character check, psych exams) but I've never been convinced that we should let people who don't have college degrees be policemen. I am aware of all of the obvious economic issues with that statement, but they don't really seem to be adequate reasons for compromising our safety. If all it takes is a couple years in the military ... it ain't that hard to get into the military to begin with.
