A friend whose music taste I highly respect just sent me this link with this message:
- I am currently in love with this new release by Canadian songwriter John Southworth. It's on a British label, but I think it comes out at least digitally worldwide tomorrow. I love enough to evangelize about it to friends...

A loosely themed double album about Niagara Falls with a Canadian Side and an American side. I think the songwriting, lyrics, recording, and band are all just really sharp and well-crafted. I haven't heard a songwriter album this solid in a while. My favorite tracks so far are: "Fiddler Crossed the Border," "Ode To the Morning Sky," and "A Day in the Forest," but shockingly (for an album of that length) they're all really good. He never seems to make the chord changes I expect him too.
Cheers!
