Yeah, I just realized as I was looking over it again. Did you see the link to this article in the comments? It's an account of the 2009 gathering and it seems like that journalist didn't have to sneak in at all.

Much as I understand that 9/11 was about a spectacle and a grand statement, I'd like to understand why an anti-American organization wouldn't specifically target an event like this. Certainly, they (whoever they are) must be aware of the efficacy of a targeted attack in the Israeli style, not to mention the influence that certain Wall Street institutions have politically.

By the by, have you ever read Brian Azzarello's 100 Bullets? It's a very noirish series (now collected) about what really goes on behind the scenes in America. It almost became a TV show on Showtime at one point and while I'm a bit glad it didn't, it's cinematic enough that I sort of wish I could have seen it on screen.

Journal's conservative, so the first thing that occurred to me is all its journalists are in Fuld and co's pocket anyway. Article definitely didn't have the moral overtones of the one I linked.

Probably because they can't. The fact that 9/11 went off without a hitch is pretty incredible, odds-wise. Also grand statements are more important to terrorist organizations who don't actually necessarily hate America, but are just trying to pick up political points in the Middle East.

No but I really enjoyed the noir Pokemon thing ciao used to post.
