Decided to look up hubski.com on Alexa. I was a somewhat confused and intrigued by the demographics.
EDIT: Piwik says that in the last 3 months, 0.3% has come from Russia. We have piwik for analytics but it's not being cooperative right now or I would see if that has better country data. Even piwik or other analytics aren't completely accurate. For example, my company's site seems to have a ton of high-engagement traffic from China. In reality, there's a bot/indexer that seems to stop by and get stuck a few times a day. It arrives, gets confused, runs in circles for about 15 minutes, and leaves. I know Alexa uses questionable tactics for how they collect and analyze data, especially for smaller sites. IIRC, they use toolbar extensions to gather their data and the internet's smartest (aka Hubski users) refuse to use toolbars. On their site they say this:Some Important Disclaimers:
Traffic estimates for sites with relatively low traffic are rough estimates and are subject to greater volatility. Alexa's data comes from our traffic panel of several million internet users; however, the concentration of users on the most popular sites makes it difficult to accurately determine the ranking of sites with fewer than 1,000 monthly visitors. Generally, traffic rankings of 100,000 and above should be regarded as rough estimates. Conversely, the closer a site gets to #1, the more accurate its traffic ranking becomes.
