I know people have responded to me but I don't see any kind of icon or visual indicator that I have a response. Does that exist?
Your Hubwheel (next to your username on the top left) should turn orange. You can then click on it to go see the replies and answer and/or dismiss the notification. Did you get my comment here? You get notifications when: 1.Someone posts a comment on your post 2.Someone replies to your comment 3.Someone gives you a shout out like this: Isherwood
Did you read the FAQ? Also Check out these discussion with questions new users asked: http://hubski.com/list?id=107786,105375,104773,103903,103537... This posts gives you a good overview of the site:http://hubski.com/pub?id=111921 edit: Check out the #newtohubski tag :) I don't know who started this, but it's a neat way to get a collection of posts useful for new users. I did a list not long ago but lists are a bit hard to find after, especially if you are not the one that made it. The tag seems like a better solution. I'll just tag the post from my list.
Good feedback, perhaps it needs to be mentioned in the tutorial. That said, did you happen to use the tutorial? I'm curious if people use it or not. Also, welcome!
You can also set your email notifications on or off in the settings panel: http://hubski.com/pref?id=Isherwood All those settings that end with "alert" are the toggle controls for your email notifications. Some people hate getting a pile of email and some love it, so it's up to you to decide what you want. As elizabeth said, the color of the hubwheel next to your name changes when you have notifications. Since you are new and didn't know this, it has probably been orange most of the time. I always notice it though and obsess over reading, replying, and dismissing notfications whenever I get them. Let us know if you have any other questions or anything. You can shout me or thenewgreen out anytime by wrapping our names in @ signs. Enjoy!
