I think this would be overreaching. I know that I would want to murder Hubskiers who attempted to track down my friends & family. After all, let's go with the worst-case scenario: let's assume dead5 really did kill himself (we have confirmed he hasn't). If you were his friend or family member, would you really want to confirm messages from totally anonymous, unknown people on the internet who didn't even know his real name that yes, he had done so? Wouldn't you prefer a private grief instead of having to inform people unknown internet strangers that yes, he really was dead?
If you read it the thread above you will see that he commented.

The amount of things I can show you guys is enough to make you need time away from life the way I do form Hubski.
Heh, I have no idea what your opinion of Florida is, but my friend owns a house there and whenever he talks about it, he goes, "Flori-DUH!" and makes really derpy noises. I have family down there myself and I have to say that with the amount of times I hear anti-Obama or pro-Fox News stuff makes me think that too.
I have only been there once, this is the part of the thread where I reveal I am, in some people's opinions, "woefully un-travelled." And when I went it was to Disney at that! My parents are renting a house on Sanibel Island, where they have vacationed for a couple of years, and they have invited my siblings and me. I only have to foot the bill for airfare (and spending money while I'm there, &etc). I agreed to this and then my mother asked me to please confirm because she didn't want my brother to back out. Her worry is fairly founded so I've doubly agreed and unfortunately Hubski doesn't mean quite enough to me that I'd be willing to bail. I did think that if the meetup occurred during one of the two weekends away maybe I could arrange to leave for FL late or return early, so I'm not entirely without options if it isn't fortuitously scheduled. However if I can have any input on the dates (and I believe we're also waiting on thenewgreen 's ladywife to pop out a brand-spanking-new human specimen before we set any dates so that's a factor of course) I'd prefer if that set could be avoided. I am hoping the weather is nice. I hate winter. I don't know how I'll be about meeting/talking to people there. Frankly I'm a little worried I might get bored. I might be on Hubski a lot. I'll bring books.
I've never been there, but renting a house is usually a good time. The weather should be good that time of year, or at least nicer than in the north. I hate winter too. I really wish I could spray my dog with that shit people use to waterproof snow boots with. Why people would even bother settling this far north of the equator, I will never understand. Staying warm is too damn expensive . . .
Is this the internet equivalent of a stage whisper? :) Way to put me on the spot! dead5, the fact that people are reacting to your alteration of your comment history in this way, makes it seem to me that there are people here who would be willing to listen and talk about any personal stuff you'd feel like unburdening yourself of, if you'd care to.
Yeah, notice that I didn't say that I thought people would be willing to talk to you about you killing yourself. I think most of the people in this thread would agree that that's something not to be handled by strangers on the internet. What I am saying, is that the thing with your comment history seems . . . well, dramatic to be frank. I mean, it must have taken a while to go through each and every comment to replace it with that .gif, no? That takes a certain level of commitment. Anyway, happy holidays . . .
Maybe he has got some sort of bot going. I don't know. It is dramatic. I think it was more of a "let's jump on board and collude!". I would have left the stage whispers for messages. Maybe he is killing his online persona because he dun't like Hubski no moar.
