It's been a music-heavy week for me. A mix of old favourites for long hours at work and ambient stuff for writing.

1. A Simon and Garfunkel Playlist, but mostly Bridge Over Troubled Water BOTW is my favourite Simon and Garfunkel album. I still come close to tearing up every time I hear The Only Living Boy In New York, Paul Simon's tribute to Art Garfunkel. Sincerity is a rare emotion to find today, when irony is glorified and friendships have fallen prey to depersonalization. In addition to this, probably my favourite track of theirs along with the masterly The Dangling Conversation, the album has other great songs such as Bridge Over Troubled Water, The Boxer, Cecilia, and the haunting closer Song For the Asking.

2. Tom Waits - Closing Time, especially I Hope That I Don't Fall In Love With You

Again, a lot has been said about Pre-Kathleen Brennan Tom Waits, Post-Kathleen Brennan Tom Waits, Tom Waits in general. Once again, its the brazen sincerity of this album that gets me every time.

3. The Monks - Black Monk Time

Man, these guys were punk waaaaay before punk. I put this album on after years a couple of days ago and thought, and you think you have a shitty job.

Picks - Monks, Boys Are Boys and Girls Are Choice, Higgle-Dy Piggle-Dy, Oh How To Do Now, Complication

4. Barn Owl - V

Solid dark ambient. It would be best to listen to this as an album, no picks, nothing.

5. KTL - V Again, solid dark ambient. Same as above, best as an album, no picks, nothing. Oh alright, Phill 2 is my favourite.

6. This playlist

Hey simplexia, if you can hear me, great playlist.
