I like how you put that. I can play mobile games on my phone with no problem, but taking the time out to play a game makes it feel like a priority, which may not be something you're okay with.

I really hope LBW ends up being great. I've been a fan of the DS Zeldas for a while. To be honest, though, I was hoping for it to be more in the vein of OOT style Zeldas, but I'm fine with a top-down one as well!

I'm the same way with mobile/actual games. And worst of all, I just spend that time anyway going on Reddit or Hubski or something and regretting it afterward :P.

As for LBW, I'm definitely excited. The 2D zeldas are some of my favorites, and hopefully LBW isn't going to be an exception. Judging from the videos and screenshots, it looks great. And I'm glad the 2D style is back (the DS games didn't really play like that).

OOT was my first Zelda. Not the first that I ever played, but the first that I ever owned. Before that, my brother was always given video games and I was just allowed to play them. For that reason, I'm pretty excited for LBW. "My" first top down Zelda. I suppose it was only fitting that OOT on the 3DS was also my first portable Zelda game. I've been slowly purchasing every Zelda game available through the eshop but haven't beaten any of them. As for the DS Zelda games, I never really gave them a chance. I haven't even seriously thought about buying them even though I now have a way to play them. Being a lefty, I just find the controls intimidating.

Honestly, the DS games are easily some of the worse titles in the series. Phantom Hourglass is alright (it's pretty much Wind Waker portable). But spirit tracks was just ugh. My left handedness didn't really cause a problem, as the controls were mostly stylus based anyway, and both the d-pad and buttons did the same things. The UI can also be move over to the other side of the screen if need-be.

If you think the DS games looked bad for a lefty, go look at Skyward Sword, which you hold the controller like a sword, but there's no lefty option :(.

You are in for a treat though, with the Zelda games on the e-shop. The oracles and Link's Awakening are some of my favorites. Zelda 1 and 2 are a bit aged, and not all fans like those particular titles. But I still find them charming :).

Link's Awakening was my first game, and my first Zelda game, with OOT being my second game. I was lucky to be introduced to such good games early in my life!

I'd never heard the bit about the d-pad and buttons doing the same thing. That does make it sound a bit better. I missed out on Skyward Sword too because I didn't have the, what was it, motion plus or whatever? But I always used the wiimote with my right hand, so I might have been able to do that one anyway.

I did boot up one of the Oracle games for a few minutes when I first purchased it before I had to go somewhere (what was I thinking?) and felt like a kid again. I spent so many hours on my Gameboy Color, it was nice to see graphics like that again.
