I've very recently discovered and started using the Stoop app, and I already think this will be my fave new tool of 2020, if only to reduce my social media use even more. Twitter and email newsletters have been good sources for interesting articles, but the Twitter app and Outlook are too distracting. This app scratches the same "I want interesting articles" itch without being dragged into a feed or into other emails that pop up.
Instead of getting a bunch of newsletters in your email, you get a new @stoopinbox email address where you can send all your newsletters (and YouTube subscriptions!) to. In return you get a very clean and minimal UI with easy unsubscribe and forward options. I've already noticed I've been reading more articles this week. Currently I am still in the process of discovering more good newsletters, so I thought I'd ask you all if you have any recommendations. Below are mine!
Faves:
Dense Discovery - tech/design, apps and links, Mac heavy
The Browser - good reads on all sorts of topics
Ribbonfarm / The Art of the Gig - mostly because I'm interested in Venkatesh
Superorganizers - very niche-y productivity tips
Ben Evans - very good roundup of links and articles related to tech
The Syllabus: customized, ultra-obscure newly published works. From the mind of Evgeny Morozov.
AIWeirdness - always good for a laugh
Blendle US Daily - not sure what the status of Blendle in the US is, but I get a daily roundup of the best stuff from WaPo/NYT and others
+ a few Dutch ones
Still in trial phase:
