So... I have a google news alert for "Groom Lake" (because of course I do) because it's a more statistically significant search term than "Area 51". Or was, anyway, until the stupid it burns. So what has typically been about a link every three weeks has become a whole bunch of things that Google is apparently finding and not being smart enough to decide is irrelevant.
In this one weird case, I'm kind of glad of that because whatever "desknews.org" is I'm not sure it's for, of or by humans, and I'm pretty sure English is not its first language. And weirdly enough, it barely tickles my ublock origin so if it's a spam haven it's not a great one. And it has precious few backlinks and the ones it has don't seem to go anywhere monetizable. And all the rest of the "articles" are also written as if by some half-mad post-apocalyptic AI as a way to tell its non-existent children about the world when it was human.
Those of you who computer better than me: what is this thing? It's hidden behind NameCheap.
