One common criticism of Hubski is that it is difficult for new users to grasp the basic workings of the site.
A couple of weeks ago, insomniasexx lit a fire under our asses with this post.
In that discussion, forwardslash suggested that we create a step-wise tutorial using intro.js. It seemed a popular approach, and in the interim, he has coded it up.
Starting today, new users will be greeted with a tutorial that outlines the basic functions of Hubski.
To see the tutorial, click on the 'tutorial' link on the bottom of your feed page.
Special thanks to insomniasexx for getting this moving, and to kleinbl00 who helped us test it out, and suggested some improvements.
Of course, this update doesn't change things for most of us. However, the new user experience does affect us all indirectly.

Nice work forwardslash et al. I'm interested to see how this helps new users. I once asked a friend to use the site for the first time in front of me while I watched and took notes. I was shocked by how different my perceptions were vs the reality he saw. It's an amazing exercise.
If any of you know anyone that would be interested in using the site for the first time and provide feedback, that sort of thing is invaluable and I'd love to know what they thought. Or, if any of you recall some of the things that were less than intuitive upon beginning to use the site, that would be helpful too.
