I think it's important to note that in the US we are making some great strides regarding same-sex equality. Sure, Great Britain legalized same-sex marriage first, but my hope is that the US will not be too far behind. I wonder how much the electoral college effects this? the popular vote is in equalities favor but gutless politicians have to make sure they win their districts, their states, their country. How much does gerrymandering play in to an issue like this?

As for the authors friend that went to China, I would love to experience this. I have never visited a country that wasn't heavily influenced by christianity and I would be interested to know if the effects were noticeable and if so, how?
