I think as bitcoins gain traction and head into a more "mainstream" territory their price will reach a more stable level. Not to say that speculation won't happen, but I don't think it will be as severe as recent events.

I don't know much about this system, but I would like to see it in the public a little bit more, if only to get people thinking about how National currencies work and where the room for improvement is.
