It's not "institutional Slavery", it's just called "capitalism" : Keep the workforce in debt, wanting to consume more, and feeling insecure, and you can pay as low as you want.

The tech industry is a grindstone where human beings are converted to value for the shareholders. These stories are all too common, and burnout is a common topic of discussion...But the H1B visa recipients aren't usually a consideration in those discussions because they're invisible to most of us. This article was good, it doesn't surprise me that vulnerable people are suffering more under the same ills we all face.
They deserve fair treatment and stability, and we all deserve better from our capitalist ruling class employers.
