Pretty fascinating for me as I didn't realize and/or consider the implicit trust issue of the Byzantine Generals' Problem in decentralized systems. I'm pretty bullish on bitcoin having an increasing significant role in the future (or another crypto currency that evolves from it.)

I think it will run into some very significant growing pains. Attempts to push laws prohibiting the exchange between it and 'normal' currencies seem like a sure thing if it's relevance continues to grow, but how those laws wouldn't take down whole industries of money-for-bits (everything from buying micro-transactions in online games to purchasing a license.. it's all bits) I'm not sure. Thus I don't see how such efforts to repress could succeed long term.

Exciting.
