The other issue everyone who understood physics was there was NO FREAKING WAY this thing would work. Pulling a liter of water out of the air is expensive energy-wise. Anyone running a dehumidifier in a basement and pays the power bill knows this. Anyone understanding how much power a peltier cooler uses knew this. Everyone who works with solar panels knew this was a joke.

Because they needed very smart people to see through the hollow promises, misstatements, impossible physics-breaking inventions and outright scams. Fontus, a fancy dehumidifier that was never going to deliver its promises got half a million dollars. SOLAR! FREAKING! ROADWAYS! got four million and government grants.

Crowdfunding sites need an overview committee to look at the project before they go live. Or stick to art.
