The Metzger Law Group previously sued McDonald's and Burger King, which eventually settled and agreed to put warning labels on their fries, pay civil penalties to California, CERT and attorney Raphael Metzger, reported The New Food Economy. The law firm applied the same formula to potato chip manufacturers.

Skeptics abound. At least one lawyer previously questioned Metzger and his relationship with CERT, wondering why the nonprofit and law firm had the same address.

The American Council on Science and Health called such lawsuits an attempt to grab "a giant bag of money," reported Forbes.

Troll just wants to collect some fees.
