It does seem so.
I'm actively un-Googling my digital life. A while ago I switched to Brave, which is privacy-oriented and already faster than the mess Chrome has become. Brave also has adblocking on mobile. However, their adblocking and tracker blocking is just not as strict as I'd like it to be and I sorely missed my plugins.
Combine that with the promise of amazing speed and I found enough reason to jump to the Firefox beta a week ago. I don't think I'll ever look back. It is noticeably faster, especially compared to Chrome on my Macbook. For mobile browsing I now use Firefox Focus, which remembers nothing by default and I really like that it's the polar opposite of Chrome.
