On top of the fear imbued into their childish actions, I have grown increasingly concerned with rural America's inability to think beyond the here and now. The urbanized parts of the world have linked up and left the unwilling industrial sherpa-folk of the farms and factories behind.

This is a perfect summary of the transition. I've often thought of Trump as a death rattle for an entire way of looking at the world.
