Hey everyone!

As some of you may or may not know, I attend the University of California, Berkeley, an institution sort of known for a dearth of funding, particularly for student groups.

My rocketry club, CalSTAR is in a bit of a bind. We recently went to Huntsville, Alabama, to launch a full-scale rocket for the NASA Student Launch program. However, this trip was financed largely by our members (to the tune of $400 per person), and not all of us are rolling in dough (college students that we are). So I'm asking for help from communities I trust.

This year we built a target detection and upright landing payload, which you can see here. NASA officials called our project innovative and the safety officer who checked off our rocket broke out into a huge shit-eating grin when he saw how we were deploying our payload.

I guess I'm not coming across very well for this--but then again I have never really been in a position to solicit donations. The GoFundMe for CalSTAR is here. Anything that you can donate helps us--to put it in perspective, it cost us $300 just to launch due to the cost of the rocket motor.

And to sweeten the deal, I'll personally donate 10% of the donations from Hubskiers to keep the site we know and love up and running up to $300 donations to CalSTAR.

mk, thenewgreen, totally understand if you don't want this here, so please let me know if you want me to take down the post, and I will comply as soon as I can.

Thanks for the support, y'all. I appreciate all you folks no matter what :)
