The farmer can rest assured that he didn't elect Trump. All of the electoral votes in California went to Clinton. Since Trump didn't win the majority vote, the farmer's vote didn't elect Trump.

Interesting that this is in the NY Times. Also interesting that they don't mention anything about Governor Brown and the bills about making California a sanctuary state.

As President Trump threatens to strip federal funding from so-called “sanctuary cities,” defiant Democrats in Sacramento are doubling down on policies to protect immigrants at risk of deportation — bills that many say would turn California into a sanctuary state.

There are also legal actions underway to sue for the federal funds. I don't know the status of any of this, but it's interesting that it's not even mentioned in the article.

I hope that whoever was interviewing this farmer let him know that there were pending actions on both sides, unless they knew absolutely a more current status.
