Almost forgot to make this post! Gonna try and make it a Sunday thing.
Designated in 1983, Great Smoky Mountains is the most visited National Park in America. It is home to extensive mountainous deciduous forests, and includes the highest point on the Appalachian Trail at 6,643 ft. (at Clingmans Dome). Fun fact- in 1946, a B-29 Superfortress crashed at Clingman's dome. Unfortunately, a fire just recently swept through the park, killing 14 people and burning numerous structures in the nearby towns of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The fire is still not contained.
I took this pic a few years ago. I don't edit my photos at all, so what comes out of the camera is exactly what I use (barring a bit of cropping here or there). I shoot on a Nikon D5100, full manual mode.
