Around 2006 France elected Nicolas Sarkozy as president.

Among other things the following things happened during Sarkozy's campaign:

  -Promise to "clean the poor suburb (mostly populated by north African) with a pressure washer"
  -Promise to "hung Villepin ( one of his right wing concurrent) to a butcher crowbar"
  -Was mocked for his short stature and his insecurities as he used  high heeled shoes
  -Was under justice investigation for corruption when he was leader of the right wing party (which was put on hold once he was elected, because in France the president is protected from law )
  -Was divorcing his wife. He ended up marrying a top-model from Italy once elected.
  -Came from a wealthy family where he never had to do anything to come where he was
  -Was courting the far right with heavy xenophobic  electoral promises
  -Had a lot of people, actors, writers, singers, etc promising to leave the country if he was elected

He is a very narcissistic entitled, insecure with his body, brat.

His win was pretty shocking. But as you might see, he did nothing of importance.
