newgameplus: Sure, people are people and just because you disagree with someone doesn't mean you'll be unable to find some common ground. Or even grow to like each other for that matter. However, I can't help but point out that if you look at Mr. Ruben's website he does happen to be White, middle-class and in a heterosexual marriage. It's usually quite a bit easier to overlook someone's opposition to, say, gay rights when they're only maligning your ideals and not your personhood. I'd be willing to bet it would be harder to hold a cordial conversation with one of the Phelps when they've come to town to actually condem you to hell.It makes it all the more sad to me really. That we, simply as human beings, tend to share so much in common, yet are driven so far apart over often petty issues.
