We are going to try an experiment on Hubski for the next week. We are going to test the site without Karma and Clout.

The Karma and Clout scoring system on Hubski was designed to encourage good content by giving voting currency to users that were appreciated, and limiting it to those who were not.

With the full implementation of following and sharing on Hubski, the content that you receive is less dependent upon what posts are voted up a page, and much more dependent upon who you follow. Therefore 'followers' has become the new 'clout' of Hubski. The more followers you have, the more you contribute to the spread of a post across Hubski.

People can be followed because they post and/or share good posts.

I'm not 100% sure that this will be a change for the better, but we won't know without trying. If Hubski works just as well or better without these scores, I believe it will be an improvement.

Please share any feedback you might have regarding this experiment, now, or as the week progresses.

Thanks!

AhimMoonchowsen: I've never looked at my clout or karma. Not really even sure what they were for, but I do like sharing/finding information here. -In other words, the change doesn't bother me.
